Today in Astana in the office of the Fostering Productive Innovation Project an online conference was held to discuss development of technology commercialization offices in Kazakh universities (hereinafter - TCOs) that will be involved in large-scale training of Kazakh scientists to English language.

The Acting Chairman of the Science Committee MoES Rakhimzhan Nurseitov, representatives of L.N. Gumilev ENU, KazNU named after al-Farabi, KazNITU named after K. Satpayev, KazATU named after S. Seifullin, KazNAU, KarSTU, EKSTU named after D. Serikbayev, WKSU named after M.Utemissov, SKSU named after M.Auezov, NKSU named after M.Kozybayev, etc., participated in the conference.

It is planned to start pilot training of 1500 Kazakhstani scientists this year.  Further, based on the results of the first stage, the training model will be scaled to maximize the coverage of scientific community. Most effective methods and developments will be applied for the training, taking into account the specifics of academic community.

According to the Rakhimzhan Nurseitov:

"The Program is aimed to bring domestic scientists to the international level to receive all possible grants for their own research and further commercialization of the results, which, in the end, will increase the competitiveness of Kazakhstan's science abroad.

In addition to the specific results in number of new researches, we expect qualitative growth given the access of our scientists to the most advanced scientific articles. And they, as a rule, are published in English.

Therefore, our task is not simply to teach to say "Hello", but provide every opportunity from the state for those who are truly passionate about their work and understands the importance of development of Kazakhstani science for future generations".

Fostering Productive Innovation Project is a joint project of the Government of Kazakhstan represented by the Ministry of Education and Science RK and World Bank, aimed at increasing the economic potential of Kazakhstan through forming a highly intellectual environment and technology transfer with innovative component.
