Hearing of IIC sub-projects’ presentations will be held from January 25-26th in Astana, Tauelsizdik 41, BC "Silk Way", 5th floor.

Schedule of presentations for the International Science and Commercialization Board will posted later on the website www.fpip.kz.

The following are the rules for presentations:

- presentation is delivered in English;

- applicant is given 10 minutes to present project, 10 minutes for questions and answers;

- up to 3 members are allowed to participate in presentation. If the sub-project leader is absent, please provide a power of attorney to the presenters;

- applicant must prepare handouts for the ISCB members.

  • 9 hard copies of slides in English;
  • 2 copies of slides on paper in Kazakh or Russian;

- PowerPoint slides in English and Kazakh or Russian without animation and other effects, in the format .ppt or .pptx on electronic media free of viruses and malicious programs;

- also, in order to avoid excesses related to the media, applicant should have electronic version of the presentation on his/her e-mail.

When preparing your presentation, please take into account the comments of ISCB members sent to your email on January 22nd 2019.

The Science committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan under Fostering Productive Innovation Project informs about extension of the call for selection of technology transfer/commercialization offices in the universities of the Republic Kazakhstan.

Deadline for applications is extended to January 21, 2019, 18.00 Astana time.

Application documentation is available on the websites of the Science Committee MOES RK (www.sc.edu.gov.kz) and the Project Management Unit of the Fostering Productive Innovation Project (www.fpip.kz).

Announcement

Dear applicants,

The Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, within the framework of the Project "Fostering Productive Innovation", announces a competition for the Grants Program for the PhD Research and Training Grant (Type A).

PhD Research and Training Grant Program is aimed at applying the potential of the world's leading educational, scientific and production organizations in the development of industrial and innovative potential of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of training, professional development and retraining, as well as joint scientific research, introduction of scientific developments to the industry.

The period of technology commercialization under this Grant Program should not exceed 12 (twelve) month.

The maximum amount of the grant will be 17 million tenge.

Acceptance of applications via the Portal (www.fpip.kz) begins on January 15 and ends on April 01  2019 at 6:00 pm Astana time.

Detailed information on the conditions and requirements for the competition will be available in the PhD Research and Training Grant Program Manual (Type A), which can be downloaded at www.fpip.kz in the "PhD" section.

Applicants should carefully read and comply with all the requirements for participation in the PhD Research and Training Grant Program Manual (Type A). All applications must be submitted in English, State and/or Russian via the Portal on www.fpip.kz. The applications in English will be considered as main document, since the examination of the projects will be carried out in English. Strict compliance with all requirements is required. Applications that do not comply with the rules of participation are subject to rejection and will not be accepted for consideration. Before starting the application, applicants should carefully read the environmental requirements for the subprojects, as well as with the prohibited activities under the Project.

Press announcement

Tomorrow, December 26, at 11:00, a press conference dedicated to summarizing the results of the year on implementation of the joint project of the Government of Kazakhstan and World Bank "Fostering Productive Innovation" will be held. The press conference will be attended by Director of Project Management Unit Murat Sartbayev and Vice-Director of PMU, Senior Manager of Component 1 Ilyas Ospanov, Senior manager of Component 2 Seitkazin Darkhan, Manager of Component 3 Mambetov Karassay.

Fostering Productive Innovation is implemented within the framework of the Agreement between the World Bank and the Republic of Kazakhstan, project implementation period is from 2016 to 2020.

The main objective of the project is to support high-quality, relevant research for the country, as well as the effective use of global knowledge and practices to consolidate commercialization cycle, which will help to increase the innovative potential of our country.

The project includes five components. As a result of two rounds of the Senior Scientist and Junior Researcher Grant Program (2016-2017), 40 sub-projects are implemented. To date, 17 projects have been able to earn more than 200 million tenge.
